BlackBerry PlayBook OS 2.0 is finally here and has brought with it native email, calendar, and contacts. If you’re using BlackBerry Bridge, you may have noticed that you’ve been getting double notified on emails. That is because the Messages section is still active through BlackBerry Bridge, which is basically useless in PlayBook OS 2.0. Here is how you turn those Bride features off.

Open up the BlackBerry Bridge app and select the connected PlayBook you would like to edit. By clicking on the selected PlayBook it will bring up a few options, select ‘Device Properties’.

Once you’re in device properties, you can see all of the available BlackBerry services associated with Bridge. Here is where you can turn off Messages, Calendar, Contacts, etc. Therefore, letting you only get emails through the new native PIM app.
